First Grade News

Dear Parents,

Hello again and happy Monday! I'm sure you have heard about our pizza party on Friday, so here's a peek at the fun:

We enjoyed pizza and juice boxes, and we learned that we helped buy more books for Century's library. We also learned that for all the money we raised, Scholastic donated that amount of money to buy books for children in need. It was a great party!

Here's what's coming up in first grade:
  • This week's challenge words are Washington and Lincoln.
  • February reading logs are due tomorrow, March 1st.
  • First grade Character Cadets will meet this Wednesday, March 2nd after school until 4:45.
  • Since we had our pizza party last week, I had decided to postpone the Dollar Party we earned until this week. Our Dollar Party will be Thursday, March 3rd. Students may wear their pajamas to school and bring one stuffed animal. We will have a special time at the end of the day to enjoy snacks and a movie. I provide popcorn and juice for the class, but if you would like to send in an additional healthy snack to help us celebrate our success, please let me know. Great job, first graders!
