First Grade News

Greetings, Parents!  I hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend!  Here in first grade, we finished up our science unit on matter, mass, force, and motion last week.  For the the force and motion words in this unit, we used Vocabulary in Motion to help us visualize and remember important science words.  Here's a peek:













And here's the latest first grade news:
  • We will not have a spelling list during the two weeks of Stanford testing.
  • McDonald's night is tonight (Monday, April 4) from 4:00-8:00 pm.  Mrs. Eckhardt will be there from 6:00-6:30! 
  • Please send in your first grader's March reading log if you have not already.  If you are needing extra copies of reading logs, please let me know and I'll send you what you need.
  • April Scholastic book orders are due back Wednesday, April 6.
  • Summer school enrollment forms are due Friday, April 8.
  • Be sure to check out my previous post about Mrs. Maloney's wonderful test-taking tips.  Thank you for helping your first grader feel successful during Stanford testing!

  • April 4 from 4-6:00 pm-McDonald's Night (Mrs. Eckhardt will be at McDonald's from 6:00-6:30. Come and see me!)
