Sweet Summertime

Hello, everyone!  In case you're still reading, I thought I'd post a summertime update. I'm here enjoying every moment of this beautiful summer.  Just keeping busy with house projects (our home is 83 years old, so there's no shortage of projects to be done), family time, summer reading, thrifting, and Pinterest (Oh my, I love Pinterest!  Email me if you'd like an invite, it's a must-have for crafty girls like me!). 

I'm missing my first graders...ahem, I mean second graders so bad!  Here are my sweeties in their Field Day shirts ready to play! 

Those shirts say We Finished First!  And what do you know?  A member of Team Eckhardt won a brand new bike for completing Coach Snider's fitness calendars every month.  Way to go!

Even though the last day is kind of bittersweet and full of good-byes, it's also the day I get to meet my new firsties for the first time! 

Yep, it was love at first sight. :)  

In other news...I got on here today to give the ol' blog a fresh new look-what do you think?  I've also been joining my teacher friends for a book study on teaching comprehension strategies, too. I'm getting all excited to start back to school already!
