Happy Friday! We’ve had a great first week of first grade. I’ve loved getting to know my new sweeties, and we’ve spent the week learning all about our classroom, our schedule, and our expectations.
I’ll be sending out an update like this every Friday to keep you informed about what we’ve been up to and what we have coming up. Here’s what we have this week:
• We took our first final spelling test today. Next week’s words are: in, is, it, me, mom, to. You should have received a complete spelling list for the year in your child’s red folder. If you did not find it, just let me know and I can get you another one. The complete list is also posted on our blog on the Study Tools page. Please remember to visit spellingcity.com/firstgradecentury for extra spelling practice.
• Please send in your Box Tops for Education. They are a great help to our school. Thanks!
• Our first PTA meeting and movie will be Friday, August 26 at 6:30 p.m.
• School pictures will be taken Wednesday, August 31.
• Please remember to read with your first grader every night and record books on your child’s Home Reading Log.
