Happy Friday! I hope you've had a great week. Here's all the important news in first grade:
- If you send a water bottle to school with your first grader, please print your child's name on it with a marker. We've had some mystery water bottles, and we want to be sure we're only drinking from our own!
- Century's character education club, Character Cadets, will be starting soon! Look for a permission form to join in your first grader's red folder.
- I'll be sending out information and a permission slip for our first grade field trip to the Pickin' Patch on Monday. Our field trip is scheduled for October 4th, and I'm interested to know how many parents would like to join us. The Pickin' Patch is located in Marionville, MO, and parents who join us will need to drive there. Please let me know if you are interested in coming!
- NEWS FROM THE NURSE REGARDING STUDENT FLU SHOTS: The Health Department did not receive the grant this year that allowed them to provide flu shots for our students, so they will not be coming to our buildings this year. Your student can still obtain free vaccination at the Health Department IF they are American Indian, Medicaid, or uninsured. You will have to call the Christian County Health Department at 417-581-7285 to make an appointment if you qualify. If your student does not meet the qualifications please contact your pediatrician’s office to schedule a flu shot appointment.
- Our Century Donation Drive begins today! Your first grader should be bringing home a manilla folder tonight with details attached.
- Thank you for sending in your Box Tops for Education!
- It's time for the annual "Can the Tigers" Food Drive:
Have a wonderful weekend!
