First Grade News

Dear Parents,

Hello again!  First of all, THANK YOU for a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Week!  It was such a wonderful week.  I really appreciate all the kind gestures of support and all the precious cards and pictures I received from my first graders.  Thank you so much to PTA as well for all the yummy food and the Duty Free Day.  What a treat!  I truly have the best job I could imagine!

Here's the latest news in first grade:
  • Our head custodian, Mrs. Campbell, has lots of unclaimed items in Century's Lost and Found.  Items that are left there after summer school will be donated, so if you are missing something, please check to see if it's there.
  • May reading logs will be due Friday, May 13th.  If you are missing any reading logs, you can visit here to print them.  Thank you!
  • All items sold in the PTA fundraiser will be available for pick up on Friday, May 13 at dismissal time.  Students need to have an adult with them to help them with their boxes.  Look for an orange note coming home in your child's red folder with details.
  • The end of the school year is coming up quickly, and I am needing your help with an end of the year project.  Each first grader will need to bring to school a plain white short-sleeved t-shirt by Friday, May 13.  Thank you for your help with this!
***Important Dates***
  • May 13-May reading logs due, white t-shirts due, Fundraiser items ready for pick-up
  • May 18-Century Talent Show at 1:00 pm
  • May 20-Century Talent Show at 9:15 am
  • May 24-Century Field Day, PTA Meeting and Skate Night
  • May 25-Last day of school (1/2 day)
  • May 31-Summer school begins
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!  I can't wait to go to garage sales tomorrow!

Sincerely,

Layne Eckhardt
