Happy Friday! Here's the latest:
- You should have received a conference time reminder in your first grader's red folder. If you did not, please call me to confirm your conference time. In order to stay on schedule and fit everyone in, please arrive promptly. Thank you!
- Beginning next week, we will add a dictation sentence to our weekly Friday spelling test. I will dictate a sentence to the class that uses our high-frequency Word Wall words. Sentences will be graded for appropriate case letters, punctuation, spacing, and correct spelling of our Word Wall words.
- PTA's yearly fundraiser kicks off on Monday, October 17th. This fundraiser will fund field trips, class parties, classroom technology, and building supplies for Century Elementary. You should have received an orange sheet with instructions for spreading the word inside your first grader's red folder. Please let me know if you did not get one, and I'll send one home.
- PTA has also asked for everyone’s email addresses so that they can keep you informed directly. Please email our Home Room Rep, Justena, at coxberry02@aol.com to provide your contact information. PTA stays very busy working to help make Century amazing, and they always have lots of exciting news and helpful information to share!
- Next week's challenge words are something and counting.
- If you need to notify me about a change of plans regarding how your first grader will be going home, please call the office and they will contact my classroom through the intercom. The reason for this is that if I'm ever out sick, a substitute will not have access to my email account or voicemail. Thank you!
