First Grade News

Good afternoon, families!

Here's this week's first grade news:
  • Our March Scholastic book order is coming home today.  If you are interested in ordering, please consider ordering online at http://www.scholastic.com/clubsordering.  Every time a parent orders online using our class code, GYLJ2, we get a free book to add to our classroom library.  Orders will be due Wednesday, March 28.  Checks should be made payable to Scholastic.
  • Our first grade Coffeehouse Poetry program will be Friday, April 20.  Each first grader will need to bring to school one piece of white poster board to create their prop for their poetry reading.  Please send your child's poster board by Wednesday, March 28, so that we can begin working on our props.  If you are able to send more than one piece, I would really appreciate it, in order to ensure that every first grader has one.  Thank you!
  • Grade cards are coming home today!  Please review your child's grade card, sign the attached signature sheet, and return the signature sheet to school on Monday, March 26.
  • Summer school information is attached to your child's grade card.  Please take a look!
  • Next week's challenge words will be unlucky and duckling
  • Please remember to send in your Box Tops for Education!  They are a huge help to our school.
