Our fourth grade year is off to a great start! I've enjoyed getting to know my fourth graders this week! We spent some time getting to know one another, building a classroom community, and learning the expectations for fourth grade. Next week we'll begin our science unit on rocks and soil and launch our reader's and writer's workshops.
Reminders:
- Manila envelopes with information about our Donation Drive went home today. Please take a look at the envelope to see what you can do to help with this JTSD fundraiser.
- Please make sure that your child brought tabbed dividers for his/her binder. Each student will need 5 dividers.
- If your fourth grader has any school work that he/she didn't finish at school, it will be coming home in the red folder to be completed at home. Please help your child remember to finish that work and return it to school the next day. Students should also be reading for 30 minutes each night.
- Please visit the JTSD Homepage and take a look at the reminders and dates that have been posted.
- September 2- No school, Labor Day
- September 10- School Picture Day
We worked together to Save Fred. This involved a lot of teamwork and communication.
Our first engineering project of the year was to build a straw tower. I loved watching them think outside the box!
Thank you so much for a wonderful first week of school, and have a great weekend!
