Good afternoon! This week was short and sweet, but we still got so much great learning in. It turns out we love rocks!
Next week in reading we will be studying cause and effect, and in writing we'll be focused on how to write an expository paragraph with a topic sentence, details, and a closing sentence. In science we'll be wrapping up our unit on rocks and soil, and we'll begin our next science unit on ecosystems and animal adaptations. In math we will also be concluding our data and probability unit and taking our unit test.
Reminders:
- It is very important that your fourth grader wears tennis shoes every Friday for P.E.
- Please make sure your child brings a coat to school every day that the temperature will be below 60 degrees. We have our recess in the morning, so it is often pretty chilly when we go out.
- Please remember that homework is to be completed by your child independently. It is helpful if you are able to look over it and clear up confusion, but I want every fourth grader to try to do it on his/her own first. Thank you so much for your help with this!
- iPad messaging must be turned off on all student iPads. Please check that your fourth grader's iMessaging has been disabled by checking Settings>Messages and move the button to the left to deactivate it. Thank you!
- Mrs. Kinkeade, our P.E. teacher, has asked that students download two more free apps for use during P.E.: Smash Your Food Free and Fooducate. Click the Apps link on the left side of the blog for a complete list of apps your child should have, along with some recommended apps for math practice. Thanks!
