We had a lot of fun this week participating in Red Ribbon Week, and we enjoyed having a guest speaker from Missouri State University show us some amazing rocks! Next week in reading we will be working on comparing and contrasting story elements, and in writing we'll be adding a strong closing sentence to each of our expository paragraphs, then writing an introductory and closing paragraph. In science we're starting our unit on ecosystems and adaptations. In math we will also be starting our new unit on multiplication, division, and arrays.
Reminders:
- Please make sure your child brings a coat to school every day that the temperature will be below 60 degrees. We have our recess in the morning, so it is often pretty chilly when we go out.
- Please remember that homework is to be completed by your child independently. It is helpful if you are able to look over it and clear up confusion, but I want every fourth grader to try to do it on his/her own first. Thank you so much for your help with this!
- iPad messaging must be turned off on all student iPads. Please check that your fourth grader's iMessaging has been disabled by checking Settings>Messages and move the button to the left to deactivate it. Thank you!
- Please help your fourth grader select a healthy snack if he/she wishes to snack during the school day. Students may not eat sugary snacks in our classroom.
- Be sure to click on over to the JTSD website for school-wide information and dates.
Important Dates:
- November 5-No school-teacher PD day
- November 8-All Pro Dad
- November 9-Chili Cook-off
- November 14-PTA fundraiser product pick-up, 4:00-7:00 pm
