Good afternoon, Parents!
Yikes! It was so cold this week! We were stuck indoors for recess most of the week due to the cold temperatures. We're looking forward to finally getting to go outside again!
Next week I will be gone all week. I've gotten a wonderful opportunity to go to Florida with my husband. While I'm away, our class will be working with contractions and possessive nouns in writing, and they'll be identifying character traits and setting during reader's workshop. In math, they will begin our study of polygons in our geometry unit, and in science, the class will begin tackling the problem of how to attract native birds back to the Ozarks.
Reminders:
- We are gearing up for our first FIELD TRIP! We will be going to Smallin Cave in Ozark on Tuesday, February 11. We are still working out the details of pricing, but it is looking to be about $5 per child for admission. Please look for more information coming soon!
- Don't forget to visit McDonald's Monday night between 4pm-8pm to show support for JTSD.
- Sign Up Genius has been updated with opportunities to volunteer at JTSD. You can sign up by visiting Signupgenius.com and searching for sign-ups with the email jtsdvolunteers@gmail.com.
- The next JTSD B & B Movie Morning will be on February 8th. The Lego Movie will begin at 9:30. Doors open at 9:00. You can get your tickets by clicking here. If you sign up online, your tickets are not confirmed until payment is received and you have received an email receipt.
- Students will need to add two new apps to their iPads for next week: Division!! and Division for Kids. Also please make sure that your child has the Edmodo app on his/her iPad. Click here to view a complete list of required apps.
